"Recardo Prosport Car Seat Giveaway"

Most who know me know that I am a huge advocate for car seat safety. I’m not afraid to tell you that your seat is installed incorrectly or your child is in a car seat not suited for his or her age, weight, or height. I’m almost positive I’ve pissed off more than one person by correcting them but my intentions are not to insult or put down, they are to inform.
When I had my first son I did a lot of research on car seat brands, types, safety and installation. Car wrecks terrify me and I wanted to be sure that if, God forbid, we ever were in a wreck that I had done everything in my power to ensure that my child was as safe as possible. With that said, I am going to try to stay on track here and not veer off too much into car seat installation or the fact that many people do not take the time to make sure their kids are properly restrained in a car seat because that’s not what this post is about. Rather, it’s about an amazing car seat by Recaro that I recently had the opportunity to test.

Recaro is an industry-leading company with over 100 years experience in designing and creating seats for luxury vehicles and race cars. More recently, they’ve taken their knowledge and experience and put it into creating exceptional child safety seats.

From their ProSeries line, Recaro’s ProSport is a combination harness-to-booster car seat with unsurpassed quality. It’s built heavy, sturdy and durable. One thing I’ve noticed with other car seats is they’re lightweight and almost have a flimsy feel to them. Lightweight is great for infant seats that have to be repeatedly lugged around but a toddler or booster seat that won’t often be uninstalled, in my opnion, should have some weight to it. I don’t know any other way to describe it except to say, it just feels safer to me. From the moment I took the ProSport out of the box I knew it was going to be a great car seat.

Built for children 20 to 120 pounds, aside from an infant carrier, the ProSport will be the only car seat you have to buy. It has a 90 pound 5-point harness capacity which is the highest on the market today. Once that limit has been reached the ProSport can then be converted to a high-back booster seat. At 120 pounds, it also has the highest weight capacity available when used as a belt-positioning booster seat. And the height range is from 27 to 59 inches! In addition, the ProSport features a “quick flip” recline system that allows you to adjust the seat to your vehicle’s specifications. My absolute favorite feature of this unbelievable car seat is the “quick lift” head restraint. Never again will I have to adjust, undo, and re-thread harness shoulder straps thanks to this system. In order to raise shoulder straps you simply lift a lever built into the back of the seat. Conveniently, this also raises the side impact head restraint. It’s genius I tell you!

ProSport Crash safety:

A stable base and reinforced sides wings allow the child to be protected in the five affected areas in a side impact collision – the head, face, neck, torso, and pelvis. When the ProSPORT is used in harness mode, the five point harness system allows the child to be restrained safely for minimum movement in the event of a collision. As the child grows, this two-in-one seat can be converted into a high back booster seat to continue to safely protect the child. The harness of the ProSPORT can be removed and the seat can be adjusted to grow with your child. A universal top tether system and a built-in premium push button LATCH system also allow the seat to stay fixed to the vehicle for minimum movement. High-quality EPS and PUR foam also contribute to safe and comfortable seat.
